What we pack

My travel essentials

A short, honest edit of the things we actually travel with. Some links are affiliate links.

What we carry

  • 35L soft carry-on

Fits the ferry racks and the smallest island taxi. No wheels to drag over cobbles.

  • Dry bag, 10L

For open-boat transfers and coves you swim into.

  • Reef-safe sun cream

Mineral, high factor, packed in the cabin bag so it survives the first swim.

Small things that matter

  • European travel adapter

Two USB-C ports. Old stone houses rarely have sockets by the bed.

  • Offline maps and notes

Downloaded before leaving. Village signal is a rumour.

  • A pocket notebook

Where the good tavernas get written down before we forget them.

What we wear

  • Linen shirt, worn soft

Two of them, alternated. Dries on a balcony rail in an hour and looks fine at dinner.

  • Leather sandals

Cobbles, boat decks, hot marble. Broken in before the trip, never on it.

  • Wide-brim straw hat

The Aegean sun at noon is not negotiable.
